On August 15, 2024 five schools sharing the same campus came together to celebrate India’s 78th Independence Day with great fervor and patriotism. The momentous occasion was graced by the presence of Chief Guest, Mrs. Swarnalatha, a renowned lawyer and advocate for social justice. Mrs. Swarnalatha delivered a thought provoking speech, emphasizing the importance of discipline in students’ lives. Parents, teachers and society must work together to guide children towards a disciplined life style was the key takeaway from her speech.
To commemorate the death anniversary of Mother Claudine, founder’s day was celebrated on the 10th of August in our school. Students presented a cultural programme showcasing their talents in music and dance. A short skit was enacted to inspire students. This skit revealed the selfless dedication, compassion and vision of Mother. Mother foundress day was a heartwarming celebration, filled with joy, gratitude and deep sense of connection to our beloved mother foundress. May her legacy continue to guide and inspire us as we strike to make a positive impact in the world.
Session on Safeguarding against Drugs, Alcohol, Child Abuse and Self –Safeguarding for girls. To educate and empower girls with knowledge and skills to safeguard themselves against drugs, alcohol, child abuse and other harmful substances our school conducted a session for students of Class IX to XII. Mr. Michael Raj, Mr. Prakash and Mr. Kingsley were the resource persons. The students found the session very useful understanding the risks and consequences of drugs, alcohol and child abuse and in learning self-safeguarding skills. The session concluded at 3.00 p.m.
The Zonal Sports Meet hosted by our esteemed institution was inaugurated on 31st July 2024 with great fanfare. The ceremony was graced by the presence of our Chief Guest Mrs. Marslene, P.E.T Staff, St. Aloysious,who declared the meet open. Rev. Sr. Celine our headmistress and Mrs. Emelda our retired senior P.E.T. staff graced the occasion. The inauguration ceremony set the tone for a thrilling Zonal Sports Meet. With the chief guest’s inspiring words, participants are geared up to showcase their talents and passion for sports. Also they were encouraged to exhibit true sportsmanship and strive for excellence.
The Old Student Association of Holy Cross School, Thoothukudi organized a series of interschool competitions, bringing together students from various schools across the district. The event aimed to foster a spirit of friendship, teamwork and healthy competition among the students. Students from schools in and around Thoothukudi district enthusiastically participated in the events, showcasing their talents and skills. The event was a resounding success with students displaying exceptional talents, creativity and dedication. Our esteemed school bagged off the Junior and the Senior Trophy. By hosting such events, the CROSA team strives to create a platform for students to grow, learn and shine together.
On the 15th of July 2024 we celebrated the 122nd birth anniversary of our profound leader K. Kamarajar. All schools observe this as “Kalvi Valarchi Naal.” The event was tribute to the life and legacy of Kamarajar, a towering figure in Tamilnadu’s history. We had flag hoisting, prayer song and speeches about Kamarajar’s life and achievements. Also S. Priyadharshini of Class VIII secured III prize in the speech competition conducted by NMS in Tiruchendur in view of this celebration. She has secured III prize in District Level.
The staff picnic to Palaruvi waterfalls on 5th July was a resounding success. It was an amazing experience that brought us closer together as a team. We had a wonderful time exploring the scenic beauty of the waterfalls and creating memories that will last a life time. We took plenty of photos to capture the moments.

The Student Literary Association (SLA) was officially inaugurated on 227th of June. The event marked the new beginning in promoted literary talents and creativity among students. The SLA offers kaleidoscopic activities to incite the curiosity and to sustain the interests of the students in various subjects. Mrs. Litwin, the Chief Guest encouraged the participants and inspired the students by her speech on the virtues hard work, obedience, discipline, sharing knowledge and most importantly fear of the Lord.
It was a proud moment for all as our school held its Investiture Ceremony on the 20th of June forming its much awaited team of leaders. Rev. Sr. Celine bestowed the captains with the badges. The Investiture Ceremony thus marked the inaugural of junior and senior pupil leader, games captain and house captains for the academic year 2024-’25. Our Chief Guest Mrs. Argia bestowed the duties by pinning the badges to the Parliament leaders. She gave an inspiring speech to the leaders and the student. The pupil leaders were administered with their oath of office. They promised to lead the school with their commitment thereby promising a definite change.
INDEPENDENCE DAY TEA PARTY WITH GOVERNOR - (15.8.2024)
Our school honoured to receive an invitation to attend the Governor’s Tea Party on the 78th Independence Day. Our Headmistress Rev. Sr. Celine and Our NCC officer Mrs. Lolita along with two cadets Lourd Danisha Morais. D of class XI Computer Science and Snowrita of class XI Biology attended this prestigious event in Raj Bhavan. It was a unique opportunity for our students to meet the Governor and other dignitaries, fostering a sense of national pride and civic engagement.
