CROSA - 26.7.2024 & 27.7.2024

The Old Student Association of Holy Cross School, Thoothukudi organized a series of interschool competitions, bringing together students from various schools across the district. The event aimed to foster a spirit of friendship, teamwork and healthy competition among the students. Students from schools in and around Thoothukudi district enthusiastically participated in the events, showcasing their talents and skills. The event was a resounding success with students displaying exceptional talents, creativity and dedication. Our esteemed school bagged off the Junior and the Senior Trophy. By hosting such events, the CROSA team strives to create a platform for students to grow, learn and shine together.

EDUCATIONAL DEVELOPMENT DAY (15.7.2024)

On the 15th of July 2024 we celebrated the 122nd birth anniversary of our profound leader K. Kamarajar. All schools observe this as “Kalvi Valarchi Naal.” The event was tribute to the life and legacy of Kamarajar, a towering figure in Tamilnadu’s history. We had flag hoisting, prayer song and speeches about Kamarajar’s life and achievements. Also S. Priyadharshini of Class VIII secured III prize in the speech competition conducted by NMS in Tiruchendur in view of this celebration. She has secured III prize in District Level.

STAFF PICNIC TO PALARUVI - (5.7.2024)

The staff picnic to Palaruvi waterfalls on 5th July was a resounding success. It was an amazing experience that brought us closer together as a team. We had a wonderful time exploring the scenic beauty of the waterfalls and creating memories that will last a life time. We took plenty of photos to capture the moments.

TALENTA - (4.7.2024)

The Talenta programme was successfully conducted in our school, with the esteemed presence of Mrs. Thersita as the Chief Guest and our Headmistress Rev. Sr. Celine. The programme aimed to nurture and showcase the talents of our students, providing them a platform to exhibit their skills and creativity. Students from various classes presented an array of performances including music, dance, speech, story-telling and poetry recitation. The audience was mesmerized by the talent and confidence displayed by the students. Mrs. Thersita graced the occasion with her inspiring words, emphasizing the significance of nurturing talents and pursuing one’s passion. Students who performed exceptionally were awarded prizes.

INAUGURATION OF SLA - (27.6.2024)

The Student Literary Association (SLA) was officially inaugurated on 227th of June. The event marked the new beginning in promoted literary talents and creativity among students. The SLA offers kaleidoscopic activities to incite the curiosity and to sustain the interests of the students in various subjects. Mrs. Litwin, the Chief Guest encouraged the participants and inspired the students by her speech on the virtues hard work, obedience, discipline, sharing knowledge and most importantly fear of the Lord.

INVESTITURE CEREMONY - (20.6.2024)

It was a proud moment for all as our school held its Investiture Ceremony on the 20th of June forming its much awaited team of leaders. Rev. Sr. Celine bestowed the captains with the badges. The Investiture Ceremony thus marked the inaugural of junior and senior pupil leader, games captain and house captains for the academic year 2024-’25. Our Chief Guest Mrs. Argia bestowed the duties by pinning the badges to the Parliament leaders. She gave an inspiring speech to the leaders and the student. The pupil leaders were administered with their oath of office. They promised to lead the school with their commitment thereby promising a definite change.

SPARK PROGRAMME (VALUES FOR LIFE) Std IV - 19.6.2024

Std IV children attended a programme by Spark on the topic Values for Life. The resource person Mrs. Rajeevi Mohanraj a crossian inspired our children by instilling the importance of values in their lives. Honesty, Fairness, Kindness, Unity, Team work and Gratitude were values taught. The initiative taken by Spark to make positive change in the lives of young minds is to be appreciated.

PARENT ORIENTATION (FOR CLASSES I – X)

The Parent Orientation programme for all the classes were conducted on the following dates in the school auditorium between 6.00 – 8.30 p.m. 25th June for classes I to IV parents 26th June for classes V to VII parents 27th June for classes VIII to X parents The key objective of this programme is to inform and engage parents in their child’s education journey, fostering a collaborative relationship between parents, teachers and the school. The teachers of the respective classes under the guidance of our Headmistress Rev. Sr. Celine organized the programme. The resource person Mr. A. Devaraj, Head & Asst. Professor – Kamaraj College conducted the sessions on all the three days. His valuable information in bringing up the students helped the parents. This programme was a success providing an opportunity to build a strong partnership between parents, teachers and the school.

MASS OF THE HOLY SPIRIT - (14.6.2024)

The Mass of the Holy Spirit was celebrated on 14th of June. Students and teachers of STD I-III organized the mass in a prayerful and meaningful way. We entrusted this forth coming academic year into the hands of the Almighty, praying that we may be truly led by the Holy Spirit to attain the goals set for this year. Students generously offered stationery items and note books for the poor children.

SCHOOL REOPENING - (10.6.2024)

A good beginning makes a big difference. With the blessings from God we began the academic year. The school assembly began with a prayer and bible reading. Rev. Sr. Celine took charge as our new Headmistress. She gave an encouraging and motivating speech to the students wishing them good luck for the new academic year.The school toppers were called on to the stage and were encouraged. The students cheered them for their great achievements.

ADORATION (6.6.2024)

Our beloved headmistress Rev. Sr. Celine was keen on conducting this Adoration before beginning this academic year. The presence of the Lord was felt by all the teachers. Father initiated us to thank for all the blessings we have received the previous year and also offered all the events of the forth coming year. We also prayed specially for all the children of our school. At the end Father blessed us with the Holy Water. After the adoration we gave a warm welcome to our new Headmistress Rev. Sr. Celine, promising her that all of us would support her and work as a team for the welfare of the students.
